The English department’s debating club has been tackling major issues such as cosmetic surgery and smoking, leading up to an exciting inter-house debate final between houses Ashie and Farraline. Judged by Rev Dr Donald the two house teams were debating whether McDonalds restaurants should be banned. Farraline won saying that McDonalds restaurants shouldn’t be banned. Congratulations to them on their victory! Special thanks to English teacher Miss Cairney who runs the debate team and who holds debates in her classroom (322) every Thursday at 12.50. Anyone is free to go along and spectate or join in on the debate.
