Shorts and Shades Day

Thank you to everyone who participated in Shorts and Shades day on the 9th of october! It was a huge success and we managed to beat our initial target by raising over £1100!!! Everyone looked amazing and the enthusiasm and effort by everyone was very much appreciated, especially by the Highland Hospice which all donations are going to. Thanks to our house, vice, activities captains and school staff who all contributed by setting up lunchtime activities for everyone to take part in ! A special thanks to the canteen staff who provided a wonderful tropical menu which attracted a lot of attention and went down a treat. :)

English News

There have been so many exciting things happening with our students recently and we will hopefully get all the details up to show you after the October Holidays.

The Young Zulu Warriors

We were very lucky and excited to have a performance from Zulus, a group of South African dancers, on Thursday 8th of October! They are part of a non profit making charity called “God’s Golden Acre” which helps look after children whose parents have been killed by HIV/AIDS. This charity aims to help these children grow up in a loving environment with a good education so they become well-adjusted adults. We would just like to thank these dancers for taking the time to perform for our 3rd years and to have lunch with a few of our pupils who were delighted to be invited to an afternoon performance! We would also like to thank the audience members who got involved and were up there learning some really amazing dance moves!!!

High School Musical

There have been so many exciting things happening around Millburn Academy recently.  Our production of HSM was a big hit with the audience!

A review from Aileen McKay:

Normally when I think of ‘HSM’, I cringe. Having been utterly convinced I passionately hate the Disney creation I must admit I’ve been won over by the charm of the Millburn Academy production; I left the performance with a broad grin on my face and feeling absolutely elated by the success of the show. Most impressive was the infectious enthusiasm of the young cast, complmented perfectly by outstanding performances from individuals. Add to this perfect comic timing and bubbling energy along with creative use of space and you have the delightful concoction that so brilliantly brought the Disney phenomenon to the stage of Millburn Academy in all its glory.
