Upcoming Events


Due to the 2020 lockdown and closure of the school, we were unable to run our Movie sing-a-long event, but hopefully will be able to reschedule this for the 2020/21 academic year.  A huge thanks to everyone who has supported MAFIA events this year.  We would not be able to help raise funds for the school without your support.

 Fundraisers in 2019/20 year:

Frozen II Sing a long Movie Night – 23rd April 2020 – Film starts at 6.30pm  in the Assembly Hall, Millburn Academy (Postponed)

£4 per ticket.  £15 for a family of 4.   Refreshments available for purchase.  Movie screening will commence at 6.30pm. Please arrive before this to get your ticket and seat.



Fundraising events held so far in 2019/20

Café 1 meal and evening of entertainment – Wednesday 19th February 2020 

Huge thanks to Norman and Karen for a great evening at Cafe 1.  A great meal and evening was had by all and almost £600 made. Some photos from the evening below.


BURNS SUPPER & CEILIDH – Friday, 24th January 2020 in the Assembly Hall, Millburn Academy

Thank you so much to everyone who supported our Burns Supper and Ceilidh. After deductions of meal costs, we made a profit of nearly £1,000.  Many thanks to all the performers on the evening, from our speakers to musicians, to helpers, waitering staff etc. The success of the evening was down to you.


Christmas Hampers  & Bake Sales- Thank you so much for all your support with our Christmas Hampers and our bake sales before Christmas, we really appreciate all your support We raised around £950 towards our fundraising pot to be used to support school activities etc.




December 2019


Thanks so much to everyone who supported our first fundraiser of this year –  our Curry Night at the Cinammon Restaurant, which was held on Monday 16th September 2019 at 6.30 pm.  We made a fabulous profit of £608 on the night.

Fundraisers held in 2018/19 year:

Millburn Academy Sports Day – Wednesday 19th June 2019

MAFIA provided refreshments  (for purchase) and free fruit and entertainment for pupils at the Sports Day held on 19th June 2019.





Race Night – Friday 14th June 2019

We held a joint Race Night with the Romania 2019 team on 14th June.  A fun evening was had by all – races, games, auction, raffle, drinks.  Thank you to everyone who supported our very successful fundraiser.

Burns Supper & Ceilidh – Friday 18th January 2019 – Assembly Hall, Millburn Academy

Our annual Burns Supper and ceilidh took  place on Friday 18th January.  A wonderful evening of great food,  entertainment, fantastic speeches from S6 pupils, music and dancing.  We made over £1,000 profit.




Christmas Raflle!  – During November/December up to 12th December

We had some great prizes in our 3rd annual Christmas raffle.  The draw took place on Wednesday 12th December 2018 at the school and we made over £500 profit.









Musical Sing Along – The Greatest Showman –  Thursday 11th October 6.30pm, Assembly Hall, Millburn Academy

A great evening had by all. We made nearly £400 profit. Thank you to everyone who supported this evening.

Cinnamon Curry Night

Thank you to everyone who supported our first fundraiser of this academic year, our Indian curry night held on Monday 17th September at the Cinnamon Restaurant.  We made over £820 profit to help fund school activities, equipment and events.

Academic Year 2017/18

MAFIA Sports Day Fun

On Tuesday 12th June, MAFIA participated in the school’s sports day, providing some fun activities for the spectators, including a bungee run, wet sponges and stocks, and a cake, drink and fruit stall, with all the fruit being free (kindly donated by Tescos, Business park.)


Our first Gin Tasting Evening was held on Friday 27th April 2018 at 7pm at the school

A great evening had with very positive feedback. Many thanks to all our guests for your support and for making the evening run so smoothly.

  • Different Gins and tonics were sampled, with other drinks from the bar 
  • Bingo and throw the coin games and a raffle as well as guess the Gin
  • Nibbles provided throughout the evening
  • A good amount of money raised for funds for school activities and groups.

Our Annual Burns Supper and Ceilidh was held on  Friday 9th February 2018 at 7pm at the school

  • Cheap bar offering everything from wine to spirts to soft drinks
  • Great speeches, songs and performances from pupils
  • Performance from drama group
  • Ceilidh to close the evening.
