Highland Apprenticeship Showcase

Highland Apprenticeship Showcase

Wed 7 March 9:30 – 3:30, 4:30 – 7:00

Inverness College UHI

Highland Apprenticeship Showcase, part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week is an exciting event for S3 pupils in the Highlands. This event aims to give these young people a hands-on experience whilst hearing directly from employers and learning about the vocational pathways into their future career.

Skills Development Scotland, Developing the Young Workforce, Inverness College UHI and the Highland Council are working in partnership to bring this exciting event alive.

On the day, pupils will get an introduction of the day, followed by an exciting interactive experience of different work places through ‘Apprenticeship Worlds’.  Pupils will then be able to look at, and enquire about, different opportunities that exist and speak to employers at their leisure.

If you would like your school to attend this event, you must ensure you book on using Eventbrite. Firstly you must pick which time slot would be best for your school, bearing in mind the traveling time, then select the number of tickets required reflecting the number of pupils in attendance for this event.  Places can be booked here on Eventbrite http://bit.ly/2rCj4M0  on a first come, first served basis.

There are seven slots available with an allocation of 100 pupils per hourly session. We are allocating time slots to manage the flow of pupils and respectfully request that nearer schools geographically select the earlier and later slots to allow those further afield schools adequate travel time.

We suggest you allow 2 hours for pupils to get the maximum benefit from this event.

Leaflets will be made available to pupils to ensure they are well prepared for the event.

An evening session will run from 4:30pm – 7:00pm and is open to all S3 -S6 pupils, parents and the public. We would be grateful if you could promote this on your school websites, Facebook pages, assemblies and announcements.

We are also happy to inform you that funding for transport is available (via the Schools Team – University of the Highlands and Islands – Inverness College). This will be coordinated as required.
